Are you ready for a
Xmas Movie BINGE?
Welcome to the Yw Xmas Movie Fest - this year's Yw Advent.
I'm excited to have you here again and to be sharing the
magic of the season with you .. and more importantly, the yarn!
First things first, you are going to want to find a place
to display your Advent. You can simply hang the Tote bag, or unpack it carefully and place the numbered parcels somewhere special .. maybe set up a little Movie Snack Bar area and pour yourself a little glass of
something festive each day before you open your treat!
Now, you just have to wait until Dec 1st (or whenever you fancy starting yours!) to open the first of the bags.
As in previous years, I know some people like to use their 12 Days kits to mark out the days after Xmas, so I won't share anything until after these dates for the first 12, but will be sharing 13 - 25 on Instagram in the run up to Xmas, a few days after each of these days, except for Xmas eve & Xmas day, which will be shared on these days respectively. Feel free to share them on your own social media however, as you see fit (and use the hashtags!) as I will be sharing some of your pics in stories as I reveal the colours in turn.
The windows of the 'Advent in an Advent' will change when they are ready to be opened ... but DO NOT click on it until you have opened the yarn for that day - Spoilers lay behid them, although this year I have added names to some of the bags on the outside, to throw a few clues out early, just for fun! I've given you little tags for your yarn .. number them or use their names if you plan to hang onto the yarn for a bit, or ball them up right away and dive straight into your Advent make - the choice is yours!
Check back here each day, as I reveal the windows .. and like last year, maybe there are a few little extra's that I've planned for you inside some of them! Or don't, if you don't want to see these daily - just make sure you DO POP BACK at some point for the extra ADVENT in an ADVENT CONTENT!

What can I make?
As you know, 12 Days of Xmas sets have 10 x 20g mini skeins and 2 x 100g Full sized skeins, and the Full Avent sets have 22 x 20g mini skeins and 3 x 100g Full sized skeins ... PLENTY of yarn for LOTS of DIFFERENT PROJECTS!
So, what will YOU make?
The yarns will not follow a particular fade or transition, and as at least 2 of your skeins are 100g, you might wish to wait until they are ALL revealed before you start your fade or project .. but it's good to plan and start getting excited!
You might like to combine 1 of the 100g skeins, for example, with your favourite of the minis for a fabulous UNIQUE pair of socks!
As in previous years, I'll be adding to the list on the right hand side as people make suggestions to me of what they are making or planning (or simply toying with the idea of!) Let me know what you're thinking!
Last year, I knit the Aurora Cabin Shawl by Stephen West. This year I'll be casting on his Fantastitch Shawl .. and will share progress in the new year, so as not to spoil the colour journey for anyone!
